The company, which has a 30pc share of the video games market, said that UK owners of Sony Playstation 3 more than doubled to 1.9m, Microsoft Xbox owners grew 77pc to 3.2m and Nintendo Wii owners rose 145pc to 4.9m last year. Demand for hand-held gaming devices, including Playstation Portable and Nintendo DS, rose from 8.8m to 12m units across the UK market.

Rumor is that Pilotwings may be delayed to join the Balance Board and Mii support system. There is an unconfirmed report that Pilotwings may be released somewhere in the first half of 2009. It would be complete with support for the balance board along with Mii as in use.

More than ten years ago, Pilotwings 64 was introduced in this series for the company’s black box. This title was an airborne action-packed series for which a demo was also shown by Nintendo back in 2006. This demo showed snippets of a flying activity with the help of the Wii remote.
