Circuit City is one retailer that has announced huge discounts on video games. This has only been done to keep up the holiday sales. We can see most games on PS3 and Xbox360 and Nintendo Wii for sale. Circuit City has planned a great start in 2009. Circuit City holds PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii for sale for just $14.99. The games are not from the old stock they have discounts on the fresh new games as well. The store person assured us that the games are not being sold out at lesser price just to bring new stock. They are doing this to make huge sale at the beginning of the year.
The first week of the year was grand week as the store sold out the games consoles for just $9.99. Most people rushed to the store to get their hands on the most wanted Nintendo. Other stores that are getting in on the action include Target Corp. stores and Amzon.com. Amazon has assured that their main attention this time will be to keep maximum Wii for sale. It is not they will not keep other games. However they know how difficult it was to get hand on the Wii during holidays last year. Thus this time most stores will have Wii for sale at lesser price.
British retailers said that their most sales were because they had Wii for sale at their stores. The Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA) said its members sold more games, DVDs, and music last year than ever before. The sales rose up to 4 percent from 2007 and a total of 485.8 units were sold. The fastest growing segment was the computer games which led by the popularity if the Nintendo Wii console.
