Wii for Sale

The Nintendo DSi is launching on April 5th in the U.S. and it showed some of the applications of the DSi at the DICE summit. Ever since the hand-held game player was introduced in 2004, the DSi is the third major upgrade in this filed. The new version will have two cameras with better sound and a wireless application download store.

One of the appealing applications in development is the Moving Memo Pad. It is a part of the DSi Ware that will be available at the launch of the new hand-held. This application lets you use the stylus to draw pictures on the touch screen. Those pictures can then be animated so that they in effect become animated movies. You can also insert your own photos into the creations and share them with others.

There were already two new games released by Nintendo from its ‘New Play Control’ in Japan. The GameCube versions of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, Mario Power Tennis and Pikmin were also re-released on the Wii. The other games under this revamped range that is to be launched in the coming months are Pikmin 2, Chibi-robo, and the two Metroid Prime games from Retro Studios. About the other GameCube classics that have to be added in the roster and with what modifications on the Wii, the Cubed3 team sat down to consider over the prime games. The list had some other games also from publishers other than Nintendo.

Nintendo’s latest theme for making video games is the curious little cute characters, Pikmin. Nintendo Wii has a hallmark of having cute characters, colourful landscapes and funny sounds. The Japanese game on Pikmin was released in 2001for the Nintendo GameCube. It has been remade aas part of Nintendo’s ‘new play control’ initiative.

The Pikmin can be moved with a press of a button and then instructed to perform a task by simply pointing the Wiimote. The puzzle-solving game provides an engaging and real-time strategy for the earlier Pikmin players. The games animated creatures as Pimin will definitely appeal the small children and the puzzles which gradually become more challenging takes these children on the next level.

Electronic Arts and Hasbro announced an online entertainment and community for girls which is based on the popular ‘Little Pet Shop’ brand. Girls could now play and customize their favorite pets through this web-based program called ‘Littlest Pet Shop Online’.

EA had also released the five ‘Littlest pet shop’ video games in 2008 on the Wii, PC and Nintendo DS platforms. It sold 2.8 million copies all across the world. Based on the NPD data, ‘Littlest Pet shop’ was a top-five title on the Nintendo DS in Europe and North America during the holidays. Very soon in March 2009, a sixth game, ‘Littlest Pet Shop Spring’ for Nintendo DS will be in stores.

ITV Global Entertainment has recently signed gaming licenses with Mindscape and RTL Games. In the meantime, Mindscape is developing a game for Nintendo’s DS. The game will be based on Britain’s longest running soap opera. The themes of the game will be based on the concepts which will be familiar to the fans of this soap opera. This game will be available in the market in the Q4 of this year.

RTL Games also has been given the license to produce a board game based on activity which will feature characters and landmarks from ‘Coronation Street’. The game will be called as Destination: Coronation Street’. Both RTL and Mindscape have a strong track and experience in producing good games with exclusive features.

Nintendo’s exercising game is again under controversies. It has now been claimed to spread “Wii-itis” which sounds ridiculous. It has defined as a sport injury caused due to playing of too much Nintendo Wii. There are certain other terms or injuries related to the Wii which include ‘tennis-elbow’ from the Wii tennis game or ‘Bowling –shoulder’ from playing too much of Bowling on Wii.

The best sounds ‘Wiihabilitation’ as recommended by James Osborn. He looks after the rehabilitation services at Herrin Hospital in southern Illinois. He says that like the traditional therapy exercises, one has to move the body with the motion-sensitive controller. These exercises become harmful at that point when the patients become too much mentally engrossed.

Nintendo, which is deemed the markets current no. 1, announced two limited edition Nintendo DS bundles scheduled for release later today, one called Mario Red Nintendo DS featuring the "New Super Mario Bros." game and an Ice Blue Nintendo DS offered with a identical carrying case and a copy of Brain Age. The company did not fail to remember about the other markets, as it plans to release its new products in the United States and Europe in early 2009.

So far, the DS console has sold more than 24 million units only in Japan, and the trend shows no sign of stopping. Sony also released a new portable game, the PSP 3000, which provides a high-resolution screen and a built-in microphone which allows users call their friends between games and movies.

NASCAR It 01/31/2009

EA recently announced that the NASCAR will make its debut on Wii in the form of NASCAR Kart Racing. 12 instantly available and 2 mystery unlockable real-life NASCAR drivers will take to the Kart circuit in highly stylized animated versions of themselves. An additional 10 fictional characters will also be available to choose from. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk or the Wii Racing Wheel, players can race on one of 24 different courses, each open to run from start to finish or vice versa.

EA is very much focusing on varied terrain with deserts, freeways, back roads, canyons, junkyards and areas around real-life tracks at Daytona International Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Dover International Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway. May be we shall do with the online play via WiiConnect, which would have been ideal for this title to compete with Mario Kart Racing, though not really around.

Years Later 01/27/2009

Nintendo had created a tycoon with the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985. The exciting Galaga, Tetris and Super Mario Brothers tantalized teens globally. And no one predicted a day when something would one-up Mario. But something did. In November 2006, Nintendo released its most ground-breaking gaming system yet - the Wii. The Nintendo Wii, unlike systems before it, markets interactive games that require physical activity.
The system has efficiently won over patrons. It was recently reported that the two-year sales of the Wii are expected to surpass those of the PlayStation 2, the video game console with the current best record. But despite the current worldwide Wii-mania, the system is destroying the public's perception of reality and, according to qualified doctors, physically abusing consumers as well.

Nothing Fishy 01/27/2009

When you first see this game, you will certainly take it to be boring, but yet there is enough fish, challenges and places to make it attractive. That said, I would rate it as chiefly a family game, a great way for kids and parents or grandparents to split some fun family time together. It's not too hard for kids maybe 5 or 6 and up, and not too childish for an adult to enjoy.

If you enjoy fishing, I think you'll get a kick out of this. The graphics are admirable as Wii games go and you don't get blocked fishing in one place on a pier somewhere. There are 40 different locations, in 7 regions of the world, Europe, Japan, South America, Africa, Australia and more. Picture deep sea trolling in Hawaii, or fishing in a fountain in Paris.
