Nintendo, which is deemed the markets current no. 1, announced two limited edition Nintendo DS bundles scheduled for release later today, one called Mario Red Nintendo DS featuring the "New Super Mario Bros." game and an Ice Blue Nintendo DS offered with a identical carrying case and a copy of Brain Age. The company did not fail to remember about the other markets, as it plans to release its new products in the United States and Europe in early 2009.

So far, the DS console has sold more than 24 million units only in Japan, and the trend shows no sign of stopping. Sony also released a new portable game, the PSP 3000, which provides a high-resolution screen and a built-in microphone which allows users call their friends between games and movies.

EA recently announced that the NASCAR will make its debut on Wii in the form of NASCAR Kart Racing. 12 instantly available and 2 mystery unlockable real-life NASCAR drivers will take to the Kart circuit in highly stylized animated versions of themselves. An additional 10 fictional characters will also be available to choose from. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk or the Wii Racing Wheel, players can race on one of 24 different courses, each open to run from start to finish or vice versa.

 EA is very much focusing on varied terrain with deserts, freeways, back roads, canyons, junkyards and areas around real-life tracks at Daytona International Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Dover International Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway. May be we shall do with the online play via WiiConnect, which would have been ideal for this title to compete with Mario Kart Racing, though not really around.

Demand for hand-held gaming devices, including Playstation Portable and Nintendo DS, rose from 8.8m to 12m units across the UK market.

It is no secret that the Wii is selling in a rush so that both Sony and Microsoft are trying hard to redefine to keep their position in market. Circuit City is one retailer that has announced huge discounts on video games. This has only been done to keep up the holiday sales. We can see most games on PS3 and Xbox360 and Nintendo Wii for sale. Circuit City has planned a great start in 2009. Circuit City holds PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii for sale for just $14.99. The games are not from the old stock they have discounts on the fresh new games as well. The store person assured us that the games are not being sold out at lesser price just to bring new stock. They are doing this to make huge sale at the beginning of the year.

The first week of the year was grand week as the store sold out the games consoles for just $9.99. Most people rushed to the store to get their hands on the most wanted Nintendo. Other stores that are getting in on the action include Target Corp. stores and Amzon.com. Amazon has assured that their main attention this time will be to keep maximum Wii for sale. It is not they will not keep other games. However they know how difficult it was to get hand on the Wii during holidays last year. Thus this time most stores will have Wii for sale at lesser price.

British retailers said that their most sales were because they had Wii for sale at their stores. The Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA) said its members sold more games, DVDs, and music last year than ever before. The sales rose up to 4 percent from 2007 and a total of 485.8 units were sold. The fastest growing segment was the computer games which led by the popularity if the Nintendo Wii console.
